Follow these practitioner-approved aftercare guidelines for hydration, light meals, restful sleep, and skin recovery following your cupping appointment.
Essential Post-Hijama Aftercare: How to Maximize Restorative Benefits
A successful Hijama session does not conclude when the cups are removed. The 24 to 48 hours following your appointment are a crucial recovery window during which your body processes the systemic shifts stimulated by therapy.
1. Immediate Hydration & Rest
Drink generous amounts of warm water or herbal teas (such as chamomile, peppermint, or warm honey water). Hydration assists your lymphatic system and kidneys in naturally processing metabolic waste.
2. Nourishing, Light Nutrition
For the first 12 to 24 hours post-treatment, choose light, easily digestible whole foods:
- Warm bone or vegetable broths
- Steamed greens, rice, or lentil stews
- Dates and fresh fruit
Avoid heavy, overly greasy foods, highly salted meals, and excessive caffeine on the day of treatment.
3. Protecting the Treated Skin
Keep the treated area clean and dry. Avoid intense showering, swimming, saunas, or hot tubs for at least 12 to 24 hours to allow the superficial scratches to close naturally without irritation. Our practitioner applies natural antiseptic black seed or olive oil post-session for soothing protection.
4. Allow Time for Quiet Relaxation
Avoid strenuous gym workouts, heavy weightlifting, or intense cardio for 24 hours. Give your parasympathetic nervous system space to unwind and repair.
